Viona AI Child Protection Policy
This Child Protection Policy explains how Viona AI Child Protection works, including the parental PIN, 10+/12+/15+/17+ age profiles, safer-content controls, web-search handling, and parent or guardian responsibilities.
Viona AI provides account-based Child Protection options intended to support a safer AI experience for children and teens. These controls are an additional safety layer and do not replace parent or guardian supervision, device-level family safety tools, or healthy digital-use practices.
1. Scope and purpose
Child Protection is intended to adapt Viona AI responses and web-search summaries to the age profile selected by a parent or guardian. It adds safety controls to chat responses, sensitive-topic handling, and web-search summaries presented by Viona AI.
These age profiles are not official store ratings or legal age-verification mechanisms. Microsoft Store, IARC, PEGI, and other rating systems are separate processes.
2. Parental PIN and activation
Enabling Child Protection requires a 4–8 digit parental PIN. The PIN is not stored in plain text; a secure password hash is stored. Child Protection can be disabled only after the correct PIN is entered.
Changing the age profile also requires the existing PIN. After five failed PIN attempts, verification is temporarily locked for approximately 10 minutes. Parents or guardians should keep the PIN private and avoid easily guessed values.
3. Age profiles
10+ is the strictest profile. Adult themes, explicit sexual content, severe violence, promotion of drugs or gambling, severe profanity, and dangerous challenges are filtered, while sensitive topics are handled in simpler educational language.
12+ may allow limited non-graphic fictional or violence context while filtering adult or explicit sexual content, severe graphic violence, promotion of drugs or gambling, and dangerous instructions.
15+ can allow broader educational, historical, news, and health context while still filtering explicit sexual content, extreme graphic violence, promotion of substances or gambling, and instructions that facilitate harmful or illegal activity.
17+ can provide broader general-purpose information, while Viona AI usage rules and restrictions on harmful or illegal activity and explicit or extreme content continue to apply.
4. Illegal and harmful requests
Viona AI is designed not to directly facilitate illegal activity, fraud, unauthorized access, dangerous misuse, or harm to people. In these situations, the service may show a safety refusal and a link to the Terms of Use.

5. Web search and external links
Viona Web Search may use safe-search settings and can apply age-appropriate summarization controls when Child Protection is enabled. Third-party websites are not controlled by Viona AI and their content may change over time.
Parents or guardians should separately supervise external browsing and use browser or operating-system family safety controls where appropriate.
6. Generative AI limitations
AI systems can sometimes produce inaccurate, incomplete, or unexpected output. Child Protection applies additional safety controls to reduce this risk, but it cannot provide an absolute safety guarantee.
Children should not rely only on AI responses for medical, legal, financial, safety, or personal crisis matters and should seek help from a trusted adult or qualified professional when appropriate.
7. Personal information and privacy
Children should avoid sharing full names, home addresses, school details, phone numbers, passwords, API keys, identity documents, or unnecessary sensitive personal data in chats. Parents or guardians should provide guidance about online privacy and personal-information sharing.

8. Purchases and external services
Child Protection is not a payment system. APIs, balances, or third-party services used outside Viona AI may have their own terms. Digital purchases and paid external services used by children should be managed under parent or guardian supervision.
9. Parent or guardian responsibility
Parents or guardians are responsible for selecting an appropriate age profile, keeping the PIN private, managing account and device access, and using operating-system or browser family safety controls where needed.
On shared devices, signing out of Viona AI, locking browser profiles, and avoiding unnecessary administrator privileges for child accounts can provide additional protection.
10. Changes and contact
Child Protection may change as the product evolves. The revision date on this page may be updated for material changes, and additional in-product information may be provided when appropriate. Child-safety concerns can be reported through Viona AI or Orvix Games support channels.
